Georgetown, Washington DC
Searching for Cherry Blossoms
I spent my Saturday wandering around Georgetown searching for Cherry Blossoms and checking out a few local places on my list. I was about a week early for peak bloom and kept my distance from the Tidal Basin, as I had heard access was restricted. Georgetown is a fantastic neighborhood and reminds me a lot of European cities. It was a perfect day to wander.
Coffee Shop: Cafe Georgetown
Cute cafe offering limited indoor and outdoor seating. Their signature drink of the moment is the Cherry Blossom latte, which is cherry tart flavor over steamed milk and espresso.
Lunch: Call Your Mother Deli
Local deli with 4 locations throughout DC, offering order ahead, pick up and delivery. You can preorder after 3 pm the day before and they text you to get in the pick up line when your order is ready. I had the Gleneagle bagel sandwich with candied salmon cream cheese and it was delicious. I also tried their Cinnamon Toast Crunch Rice Krispies treat and it was 10/10.
Garden: Dumbarton Oaks
The Dumbarton Oaks garden and museum are temporarily closed, but you can still walk around the park and get a peak at some spring blooms. Great place for a run/walk or a picnic on a nice day.
Shop: Foxtrot Market
New to the DC area, Foxtrot Market offers an eclectic mix of food, drinks and gifts. They even deliver locally. I love a good market shop, so I couldn't pass up stopping by before heading home. I'm hoping their next location is in Baltimore!
